How to merge PDF files

The order is yours

The files join in the order shown in the list. Use the up and down arrows to move a file, and the cross to remove one. Add more files at any time before you merge. This lets you put a cover page first, then a report, then an appendix, without renaming anything.

Quality is kept

Merging copies each page exactly into the new file. It does not re-compress or re-draw the pages, so nothing loses quality and the text stays selectable. The merged file is about the size of the parts added together.

When merging helps

Combine several scanned pages into one document, join a set of invoices for the month, or put a form and its supporting papers into a single PDF that a portal will accept as one upload. Many forms ask for one file, and this is the quick way to make it.

Does merging lower the quality?

No. Pages are copied exactly, with no re-compression. The merged file keeps the original quality and any selectable text.

Can I set the order of the files?

Yes. Use the up and down arrows in the list to arrange them before you merge.

Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can join?

No fixed limit. The work runs on your device, so very large sets just take a little longer.

What if one of my PDFs has a password?

A password-protected PDF cannot be read until you remove the password in your PDF reader. Do that first, then merge.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Merging happens in your browser. Your files stay on your device and nothing is saved.
